Short answer: to match edge banding to UNIBOARD panels, find the decor code on the board label, such as K15, H65 or 777, and then check the finish word that follows it, such as Supermat, Dolomite or High Gloss. Several UNIBOARD codes come in more than one finish, and each finish has its own edge. Order a free sample of that exact code and finish and compare it with your board before you buy rolls.
Key takeaways
- The decor code is the fastest way to the right edge. A color name like "grey" or "oak" fits dozens of UNIBOARD decors.
- Eight codes in our range come in two finishes, such as 123 Dolomite and 123 Supermat. Match the finish as well as the code.
- We list about 140 UNIBOARD edge banding matches, each named by its UNIBOARD code plus a CT reference number.
- For a 3/4" panel, a 15/16" (about 23 mm) wide band leaves a little to trim flush.
- Judge the match from a physical sample next to the board, not from a photo on a screen.

How do UNIBOARD decor codes work?
In our range, UNIBOARD decors are named by a short code: a letter plus two digits (K15, H65, L03, G17) or a three-digit number (123, 744, 965). When a decor comes in more than one surface, the finish name follows the code, for example 802 Supermat or K83 Omnia.
Look for the code on the panel label, the pallet tag, your supplier's quote or invoice, or the project spec sheet. Write down the code and the finish word together. "UNIBOARD 123" alone is only half the answer.
Which UNIBOARD codes come in more than one finish?
These are the codes where picking the wrong finish is easy. A matte edge on a gloss door, or a gloss edge on a matte door, looks wrong at the corner even when the color is right.
| UNIBOARD code | Edge banding matches by finish |
|---|---|
| 123 | 123 Dolomite and 123 Supermat |
| 168 | 168 Dolomite and 168 Supermat |
| 777 | 777 Dolomite and 777 High Gloss |
| 802 | 802 Dolomite and 802 Supermat |
| 805 | 805 Dolomite and 805 Supermat |
| G20 | G20 Dolomite and G20 Calico |
| K83 | K83 Omnia and K83 Supermat |
| K84 | K84 Omnia and K84 Supermat |
A few other decors come in a single named finish in our range: K19 Calico, K20 Calico and K21 Calico, L02 Aura and L04 Aura, and K86 Supermat. If your paperwork does not say which finish you have, ask your panel supplier before you order.

How do you match edge banding to UNIBOARD panels step by step?
- Find the code and finish. Read them from the board label or your paperwork, for example "K83 Omnia".
- Look it up above. Use the code table, then check the finish table if your code is listed there.
- Open the matching product. Each roll is named by the UNIBOARD code it matches, plus a CT reference number.
- Measure the panel thickness. A 3/4" panel takes a 15/16" (about 23 mm) band, which leaves a small overhang to trim. Our edge banding width guide covers other thicknesses.
- Order a free sample. Request it from our free sample page.
- Compare in real light, then order. Hold the sample on the panel near a window and under room lights. Use our guide on how much edge banding you need to size the order.

How do you choose between two close UNIBOARD matches?
When two samples both look right, these checks usually settle it:
- Sheen: tilt the panel toward a light. The edge should shine about as much as the face.
- Texture: a textured face, such as a textile look, looks best with an edge that carries a similar texture, not a smooth one.
- Undertone: greys, whites and beiges can lean warm or cool. Lay both samples on the board and see which one shares its cast.
- Grain: on wood grains, run the edge in the same direction as the face grain, and compare against a full-size offcut rather than a small chip.
- Where it shows: test against doors and drawer fronts first, since they get the closest look.

Frequently asked questions
Is this edge banding made by UNIBOARD?
No. CT Edge Band makes the edge banding and matches it to UNIBOARD decors. UNIBOARD is the panel brand.
What width do I need for a 3/4" UNIBOARD panel?
Order 15/16" (about 23 mm). It is a little wider than the panel, so you can trim it flush after it is applied. Check each product page for the sizes listed for that decor.
My paperwork only says "UNIBOARD 123". Which edge do I order?
123 comes in Dolomite and Supermat in our range. Ask your panel supplier which surface you have, or order a sample of both and compare them on the board.
Why does the product photo look different from my board?
Screens and photos change color, sheen and texture. Judge the match from a physical sample next to the board.
